Freya Barton is a Berkshire-based artist whose vibrant, pattern-led paintings celebrate colour, landscape and the visual language of everyday life. With a background in Textile Print Design from Winchester School of Art, her work carries a strong sense of rhythm, structure and decorative sensibility, translated through expressive mark-making and layered colours.
Working with heavy-bodied acrylic, oil pastel and oil stick, Freya builds playful layered paintings where perspective shifts and space tilts. Landscapes flatten, colours intensify and everyday environments become charged with joyful emotional energy. Her work sits somewhere between observation and invention, balancing control with play.
