The work is all thrown on the wheel from white earthenware clay; the interior glaze is water-tight.
LB20 15cm Turquoise Oval Vase Lucy Burley
Ceramicist Lucy Burley makes vibrant works that explore a harmonious balance of colour and form. Beginning with white earthenware clay thrown on the wheel, she finishes her bottles, vases and jugs with a semi-matt glaze, combined with oxides and stains in a beautiful spectrum of colours that accentuate the simple and beautiful shape of each piece.
Lucy attended Wimbledon Art School (1992-3) and went on to gain a BA Hons in Ceramics at Camberwell College of Arts. Lucy has been a practising ceramicist ever since in addition to delivering workshops and teaching classes in schools, adult education centres and museums across Surrey and Hampshire.
Lucys work is stocked in over 20 galleries throughout the UK, and in many private collections around the world.
Lucys work has featured in Ceramic Review, Ideal Home Magazine, Good Homes, House Beautiful, Huffington Post, YOU Magazine, Coast, The Independent on Sunday, Country Homes and Interiors and The Daily Mail.
