Landscape is her first love and she finds constant inspiration from walking in, and moving through outdoor spaces. Although oils are her preferred media, Sue enjoys the discipline of printmaking and the challenge of other materials. In 2019 she reached the final of ‘Sky Landscape Artist of the Year’ and in 2022 she completed a years residency at Denmans Garden, Fontwell, West Sussex, which culminated in a successful one woman show in their gallery. She exhibits widely and has had work in the Ruth Borchard Self Portrait Competition, The Discerning Eye Exhibition, The Jerwood Drawing Prize, The Society of Women Artists and many other, more local venues in the south. Tending to express her experiences in a more abstract way, Sue still retains the essence of representational painting and is constantly stimulated by what she sees and feels.
