Turning A Corner was inspired by a photograph I took on a walk near Parkend in February 2023 with my partner, young son and baby daughter. The right of the path was boggy and reflected the light from the overcast sky, the only greenery was from evergreen trees and ivy which clung to the tree trunk to the left. Wintry bare branches are interesting to draw as they cut through the patterns and marks in the drawing, leading your eye around the landscape.
