Three Figs and a Spoon Kirsten Elswood
Kirsten was born in Clifton in 1967, and has spent much of her life steeped in the topography of the South West of England. She is a contemporary oil painter, working both en plein air and in the studio.
Memory and the directly observed meet on her rich surfaces, combining a restful palette with dynamic line and paint work. Through considered mark-making, she makes works that respond to the immediate experience and also memory of ‘place’, aiming to evoke “the wind on your cheek and the everyday moments of peace
