Alison Vickery Irises
Alison works mainly in acrylic and mixed media, creating lively paintings which capture the essence of her subject. She is particularly interested in light and how it affects colour and atmosphere. Her work starts with a response in a sketch book, making marks, looking, observing. Walks in the Cotswolds, where she lives and the coast are favourite starting points, capturing that feeling of setting off down a path, watching the movement of the sea, or still of a Summer day. “Catching a moment”.
Alison studied graphic design and illustration in London in the 80's, followed by a successful career in design and illustration. Since 1994 Alison has concentrated on her passion for drawing and painting. She has worked on many commissions for, amongst others, The National Trust and John Lewis. Many of Alison’s paintings and designs are published under licence, her work sells Worldwide and is permanently exhibited in a number of galleries and is in many private collections.
