The Sanctuary Gallery will be closed from 5pm on Christmas Eve until we reopen at 10am on Saturday 7th February for our first exhibition of 2026.

We open our 2026 season with an exhibition of work by nine women artists inspired by the dramatic landscapes of the North. From the dark romance of the Yorkshire Moors to the bleak beauty of Scotland’s Outer Hebrides, these artworks explore the untameable atmosphere of Britain’s northern reaches.

We are a contemporary art gallery at the heart of the historic village of Newnham-on-Severn in the Forest of Dean, close to Gloucester and the beautiful Cotswolds. Our year-round programme of exhibitions brings you the best in painting, studio ceramics, handmade jewellery and contemporary craft.
