'Pause In The Landscape'
Inspired by a walk in the Wiltshire countryside. Upon seeing the gap in the hedge and the beautiful tree it felt almost like a full stop. Like a pause in my walk and the surrounding landscape.

Clare Duguid Pause in the landscape
Working from her studio in Bradford on Avon, Wiltshire, Clare Duguid creates drawings and paintings that explore the natural world, quiet landscapes, and the enduring character of trees.
Clare studied art to degree level before pursuing a career outside the arts, but throughout that time she continued to nurture her creativity privately. In 2020 she returned to her artistic practice with renewed focus, embracing drawing and painting as a way to slow down, observe closely, and engage deeply with the subtleties of form, light and atmosphere.
Clare’s work is shaped by a deep connection with trees and the natural world. Her aim is to invite viewers to pause and connect with nature’s own story. Clare’s work is now exhibited in galleries and collected across the UK and internationally.
