Dawn Hajittofi’s ceramic work tells the story of life’s journey, referencing the ways in which we carry our hopes and dreams alongside our struggles and fears. Her hand thrown vessels are decorated using slips and randomly applied indentations and glazes, and abstract marks which symbolise the significant events we encounter, acknowledging their lasting impact. Finally, she adds gilt touches to reference the Japanese art of ‘Kintsugi”, which restores broken pottery with seems of real gold, restoring its purpose and worth.
