Jean Tolkovsky ‘To The Moon’

Jean Tolkovsky works from her home studio in Guildford, Surrey, where she produces her unique, handbuilt, figurative pieces, which fall into two categories. Here she presents her whimsical, toylike, animal characters, inspired by fairytales and childhood memories.

By contrast, the second aspect of her work is centred around emotive, more naturalistic busts and anthropomorphic shelf figures. Almost all of the work carries a loose narrative which is open to interpretation.
