Kim Jarvis Sunset over the Slate Islands
As a successful designer and maker of architectural stained glass Kim ran her own studio from 1997 to 2010. Her work can be seen in many churches as well as public and private buildings throughout the UK. Her training included a Diploma in Architectural Stained Glass at the prestigious Swansea School and a Masters Degree at York University, together with residencies at The Victoria and Albert Museum and the stained glass studios of the Cathedrals of York and Canterbury.
Her fascination with light and colour has led Kim to explore the potential of oil paints to achieve images that capture the essence of a place at a moment in time. Her plein air studies are highly collectable and these she uses to produce her larger canvases in her home-based studio.
Kim is represented by several galleries in the UK and her work is sold worldwide. She has often shown her work with The Royal Society of Marine Artists and The Society of Women Artists at their annual exhibition s at London’s Mall Galleries and also with The Royal West of England Academy of Arts in Bristol.
