Memory and the directly observed meet on her rich surfaces, combining a restful palette with dynamic line and paint work. Through considered mark-making, she makes works that respond to the immediate experience and also memory of ‘place’, aiming to evoke “the wind on your cheek, the smell of the mud, moss and grass, the sound of the breeze carrying the birdsong, the rumble of thunder”
