Rachel Redfern Hold Tight
Rachel’s artwork is varied and instinctive. Working with oils she draws on photograph’s, sketches and memories based on her time in nature and the impact of seasons and world events on her daily life and mental health. With recent prolonged trips north to Scotland and an empty nest in Hampshire she has been reflecting on a longing to feel at home, not just in a place, but in herself. A longing to arrive somewhere perhaps she never left. The simple act of walking the Highland Way, swimming in Loch Lomond and painting the light in the landscape has allowed her to connect to the richness of being alive. A Northern inner ground with the capacity to soften. This collection of paintings reflects both that softness and the drama of the Scottish landscape.
Rachel has exhibited at The Affordable Art Fair, The Other Art Fair, Manchester Contemporary Art Fair and in galleries across the South-East and South-West. She often works to commission for individuals and interior designers and has artwork in private collections both at home and abroad. She is a graduate of Newlyn Art School Mentoring Programme, has an MA in Fine Art from Chichester University, a Foundation Diploma from West Dean College.
