Astrig Akseralian has a BA(Hons) in Ceramics from the Central School of Art and Design, London. Following her degree she set up her studio at the Cockpit Yard Workshops in Holborn, London and from there created and sold her work through various galleries in the UK and internationally, including Barneys in New York. Her ceramics were decorated with animals, wild and domestic and full of colour and energy.
Some years later Astrig had a change of career moving into the film industry as a freelance painter working in the Creature Effects Departments. Over 27 years she received many credits on films made in the UK and on location around the world, including Harry Potter, Gladiator and Muppet Treasure Island. In 2011 Astrig decided to concentrate full time on her own painting practice and now shows her work throughout the UK
