Briony’s recent work explores the deep shadows encountered in night walks and at the closing and opening of the days. She has looked to paint in these liminal spaces and the expanse of height created by uninterrupted wide skies, exploring the beauty and peace of such moments.Studies in Geology and reading on natural history subjects have impacted her perception of the natural landscape, of time and of our small human place within both of these, resulting in the preoccupations which inform her current paintings.

Briony began her art studies at Manchester Polytechnic and Graphic Design at Newport Art College continuing a career in London as a freelance artist in publishing. Briony is now living in North – East Scotland in Aberdeen and is concentrating on her painting practice. Briony has exhibited widely throughout the UK.
