Maryanne Hawes

Maryanne is an artist and creativity coach based in West Cornwall. Her abstract paintings consider how the land and the psyche both bear layers, erosion, and transformation. Often drawing on metaphors from geology, memory, and psychogeography and working with layered surfaces and textured marks, she maps psychological terrains shaped by emotion, experience, and time.

Maryanne’s work has been exhibited in galleries across the UK and abroad. She is a member of the Penwith Society of Artists and the RWA Artist Network. Alongside her painting practice, she works as a coach, supporting midlife women to reconnect with their creativity and develop self-belief through positive psychology.
