Rising young artist Rose Arbuthnott is a sculptor and painter of extraordinary, unrestrained still life works. Leading with her brush and taking a fearless approach to colour, she creates pure and psychologically rich oil-on-wood-panel works in which objects take on an essential character and context in relation to the space in which they sit. Rose was born in Cheltenham and studied Art and Art History at Edinburgh University before receiving a scholarship to attend The Prince’s Drawing School in London, and she has recently completed a Masters degree in Sculpture at the Royal College of Art. She has been long listed for the John Moores Painting Prize and recently exhibited at the Royal Academy summer exhibition.
