Tabitha Fedden has a Masters in Fine Print from Wimbledon School of Art and is a regular tutor at Gloucestershire Printmaking Cooperative.
She specialises in relief print - wood, lino and card, stone lithography and collograph alongside drawing, painting and collage. Tabitha uses traditional methods of Printmaking within her practice but also incorporates innovative techniques including most recently Lithino - combining Lithography on Linoleum.Â
Her work falls somewhere between representational and abstract, not necessarily a literal translation but an emotive response to subject. It is underpinned by a wide-ranging investigation into natural forms; a curling, fallen Leaf, a distorted, twisting tree or an arching rose. There is a specific focus on finding within these, metaphors for human physicality; growth, restriction, movement, shape and colour.
Alongside this she has a long-standing interest in incorporating hand drawn lettering within her prints, with a view to either augment a visual idea or as a complete visual composition in and of itself.
