Vanessa Wilson was born in Karachi in 1969 and spent her early childhood in Australia before relocating to the UK in the late 1970s. After completing a Fine Art degree from Manchester Metropolitan University, she lived in London, Glasgow, and Spain. In 2015, she returned to the UK to complete a PGCE in Art & Design, and since 2022 has been working full-time from her studio at Three Storeys in Nailsworth, Gloucestershire.

Artist Statement
My practice centres on painting and mixed media, using the creative process to connect with place, people, and memory. Through paint and collage, I explore personal narratives—often forming embellished autobiographies told by an 'unreliable narrator', which I hope invites viewers to engage and reflect on their own life stories.
